Our Board of Directors

Abdul-Rafi Shakir Ganim is the Chairman of Mecom Holding WLL and he has more than 25 years of experience at investment management firms and banks across both retail and institutional platforms in London. He has held senior executive positions at some of the most prominent financial organizations in the middle east. Abdul-Rafi Shakir Ganim is a graduate of Banking and Finance from the prestigious Havard University and a Masters Degree in Management from the University of London. He brings many years of leadership experience to his role on the Board of Directors, including his extensive background in executive management and sales.

Hassan Al Lawati oversees the strategic management of the firm and is responsible for driving growth and preserving the firm's unique culture. As an industry veteran and trusted manager, he advises entrepreneurs and executives on their overall business needs. Over the past 20 years his focus as an executive and entrepreneur has been on funding, investing in and building asset management companies. He has been successful in building and managing high performing teams operating in both public and private capital markets. Working with both alternative and traditional strategies. He earned a B.A. in Economics from Durham University and an M.B.A. from Imperial College London.

Dr. Mark Phillips joined Mecom Holding WLL in 2018, bringing more than 30 years of industry experience, including 13 years as the Chief Administrative Officer and Chief Investment Officer of several companies in Asia. He began his career in 1981, where he started as a sales representative and went onto a variety of management positions. He also has served in mulitple management and financial positions within the company. Dr. Mark Phillips earned his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Texas and completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.

Robert Clayton leads Mecom Holding WLL's Treasury & Capital Markets Team. He assists with investment manager due diligence, asset allocation modeling, and implementation and travels the world searching for the best investment managers for the firm clients. He was appointed to the board on June 2018 and is a member of Investment Committee. Prior to joining Mecom Holding WLL, he has held several key management positions in several Arab firms. He is responsible for performing analysis of risk, premium levels, break-even probabilities, and general reserving practices for clients. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics and Economics from International College of London.

Sheikh Khalid bin Malik has over 25 years experience in international business across financial services, banking and renewable energy. He joined Mecom Holding WLL from Barclays Bank where he was a member of the Group's Executive Committee. He previously held positions as Chief Operating Officer and Finance Director at other firms in Europe. He brings with him more than 25 years of corporate finance experience. Sheikh Khalid bin Malik has gained all-round knowledge in respect of the development of London's financial service industry and has established a strong network through working with both international and local financial companies in London. He holds a Master of Business Administration with distinction in Finance.
